Soybean is primarily grown as an oilseed crop and also used as a source of protein. In Europe as well as in Hungary, it is mainly grown for protein and used as a raw material both in feed and human food production. Soybean occupies about 6 percent of arable land globally, but this percentage has been increasing year by year. In Hungary, soybean is grown on 60 000-70 000 ha, but there is a strong potential to increase its growing area. Isterra soybean varieties are tested in Hungary: Just like our award-winning winter wheat, winter barley, triticale and grain sorghum varieties, soybean candidates are tested under commercial conditions at sites distributed all over the country. As a result, our varieties are optimally adapted to central European weather conditions and soil types. We aim at serving the actual needs of Hungarian farmers and guarantee profitable production in the Central European region.
Controlled seed production: variety testing and seed production (and also breeding, in the case of our winter wheat) is a strictly controlled process at Isterra. The entire process is personally controlled by our staff so that we can offer you new, resistant varieties every year. Our process, strictly controlled from start to finish, guarantee the quality of our seeds. We co-operate with selected experts in seed production to maintain quality and increase quantity.

ES Liberator soybean seed
Our ES Liberator soybean, approved in 2020, is a very early (00) soybean variety with a recommended sowing date between mid-April to mid-May to be harvested in early September. beaing such an early variety, it can be harvested without desiccation, so it can be successfully grown in the northern areas of Hungary, too.
The main advantage of ES Liberator is the uniform maturation of stands. As a result, this variety may be harvested in one go, early and without losses. With Isterra’s ES Liberator you will have a hardy soybean variety with outstanding lodging resistance. Radiosa soybean seeds
Radiosa is also our soybean variety registered in 2020, which is early (0+) ripe. It is worth timing its sowing from April 15 to May 5. Our Radiosa variety was also a winner in the Magyar Szója trials: On average, it produced the largest crop in 5 locations. Its outstanding yield is due to the fact that the variety is characterized by a large number of side shoots.

ES Generator soybean seeds
Our ES Generator soybean variety is especially recommended for the southern and central parts of the country. It is a medium-ripening variety (1), which in terms of yield surpasses standard varieties by up to 9 percent. It is due to be harvested at the beginning of October. It is recommended to sow Es Generator soybean seeds between April 10 and April 30. Its yield is 4.7 tons/hectare, for which we recommend sowing a seed norm of 450-500 thousand seeds/hectare.
The great advantage of the variety, like Radiosa, is that it grows a lot of side shoots, which is why its number of pods and yield is higher than average.
