Isterra's WINTER TRITICALE VARIETY
In Hungary, the share of winter triticale may very well increase in cereal production in the future. The triticale variety bred by Isterra provides for economically feasible production. Its vegetative yield is quite high regardless of season. This variety may be a profitable option for areas less suitable for growing winter wheat. Due to its advantages, this is one of the most popular varieties in Hungary, whether for fodder or roughage. Learn more about Isterra’s triticale!
WHY GROW ISTERRA WINTER triticale VARIETIES?
Excellent productivity and stable yield regardless of season: The variety is highly resistant to diseases. It may also be grown successfully on poor soils and by low fertilizer doses. The variety is characterised by an outstanding economic performance combined with highly consistent yields. Its vigorous root and stem development provide for excellent drought tolerance. Yields average between 7 and 10 tons per hectare.
Disease resistance: triticale is most often infected by ear fusarium and powdery mildew. Against these, a single fungicide treatment is usually sufficient, rendering triticale plant care much cheaper than that of winter wheat.
